Oh man. I would buy this just to get a glimpse into what his actual diet might consist of.

Doesn't happen much, I usually only buy 2-3 days worth of food at a time.

most companies with marketing and quality assurance departments who are worth a crap pay very close attention to the shelf life of their product(s) to avoid damaging their brand(s). now, with your palate, i would be terrified of what i was putting in my body.

Calling somebody I've never talked to to ask for money or permission to do something. I absolutely hated the 1 time I got roped into telefund and I would make a terrible salesman.

1000X this. I hate calling people I don't know, and I hate asking people for money. Doing the telefund was pretty much the most nerve racking thing since it's both of those.

On the flip side, when I do receive the telefund call, I try to be as :D as possible to them, knowing how :runaway: is was for me on the other end.

I'm not mean to them or anything, but I hate taking that call. I just know that after I say no, they are going to follow their script and try to bargain me down all the way to about $20, and I'm still going to say no. And if you don't answer, they just keep calling all night.

I totally get that too. Sometimes I let them call a few times so I know it's coming and I can prepare. Then I can be more amiable about it.

So I don't like needles, shots, the smell of the alcohol swab, all that.  Sometimes I (used to) pass out and seize.  Well one time at work I was watching a safety video that covered people passing out and seizing and it made me pass out.

i started this thread thinking there isn't much that makes me anxious (other than interacting with people, which goes without saying), but after reading it through, i'm pretty roused up by the thought of all you fuckers throwing away so much food, so maybe that's an anxiety.

it makes me sad, not anxious or angry. i wish more people would actually prepare more meals for themselves. they would appreciate the food/ ingredients more, experience the joy of creating something, and the fulfillment that real food provides.

i go by the look and smell of the food on whether it is still good to eat. arbitrary date printed on it doesn't really matter imo. i've never gotten food poisoning or anything like it. rest of you are just weirdos.

I wish people would actually kill or catch more of their own food.  IMO gives an even deeper understanding and appreciation.  I hope you get your bird pms.

I get your viewpoint. Harvesting my first game animal as a teenager certainly altered my outlook on how food gets to your table. That being said, I don't think that many people come from the right place mentally to participate in the process, that includes both those that abstain/abhor it and those that participate solely for the conquest/ trophy aspect of it. The commercialization of it (i.e. the glamorization/ creation of the redneck rockstar) is one of the biggest contributors to how the process gets misconstrued on both sides of the spectrum.

I think what we are both dancing around here is how increased specialization in every day life has allowed people to lose touch with many of the processes necessary to maintain life and the sense of fulfillment that comes with carrying them out. There's an innate human need to do work necessary for survival, when you deny yourself this work, you open the door to let dissatisfaction with yourself and your actions run rampant. People express that feeling in a lot of different ways.  :th_twocents:

thanks, I will be seeing my father this weekend. i will discuss plans for this spring with him then.

You guys should use Guaranteed Foods© like my family does.  With Guaranteed Foods© you order food every six months and they deliver it and put it in your giant freezer.  Guaranteed Foods© cuts down on waste because everything is packaged individually so you cook exactly the amount you want.  Also, if you don't like something Guaranteed Foods© will take it back and replace it with something you do like free of charge, cutting waste even more.  Not to mention we eat healthier and save money by not going out to eat as much.  Guaranteed Foods©:  _33 approved.
