1/3/17: It doesn't matter that it's the end of the game, that's a blatant violation of the rules of basketball!

1/10/17: It doesn't matter that it was a blatant violation of the rules of basketball, you don't make that call at the end of the game!

I'd be interested to know what blatant rule oscar violated and what the rule states the penalty for the violation is supposed to be. This shouldn't be difficult for a documented genius.

Things have really been tense between MIR and Spracne ever since Spracne accused MIR of not having any friends that are public defenders

Pause it at 22. He's practically blocking the official on the way down.

they should call it much more.  if they did, it would stop in about 3 days and they'd never have to call it again.

Agreed, this chicanery must finally stop and then maybe we can finally get back to playing basketball the way Lambert Will intended.

Yeah, agreed but by rule every time a ball handler takes four steps it is a traveling violation punishable by immediate loss of possession; the point I was making to the genius in regard to his brilliant foolproof post.

I thought Oscar said something to the officials that hacked them off.  In my mind, I was imagining a Ned Flanders swear in Oscar's squeaky voice.  It made sense after I looked at it that way.

yeah, it's a completely different situation.  his wording was cleverly done, though.

which is what made it a good post, but some people don't appreciate that and need to be right about these serious subjects

I go to a few WSU games and watched them play Loyola last night. Watching Marshall coach is a treat, because he knows how to coach but he also works the officials so well, he'll plead and bitch and chew and then when he knows they've had enough he'll go out on the court at a timeout and schmooz them up with his hand on their shoulder.

oscar on the other hand couldn't schmooz a stump broke heifer, he just yells or gives them that stupid mouth breathing look and it gets old.  I don't blame the official one bit for T'ing him up for being at the free throw line.

This post made me think of that shitty, animated Adam Sandler movie.

“I don’t know what the technical was called for. I thought that The Flush got fouled, and I raised up my hands. Maybe that was a little out there on the court, but it’s the end of the game. It’s emotional. I don’t cuss. I don’t cuss at the officials. I treat them right. Everyone tells me that I am professional, but I don’t know if that does any good. Maybe I should try the other way.”

I think it's pretty clear from here that it wasn't called bacuse of floor position.  It was called on a dead ball, well after the play.    Could they have called it for "obstructing" the official along the sideleine?   If so, THAT official should be the one to call it.

Lord help us if we ever complain about refs not calling a rough ridin' technical foul to help us out at the end.
