The foundation of classical physics was practically laid by Newton. There are plenty of other very brilliant individuals over time that he worked with and also built off his work, including fairly independently but nonetheless reinforced Leibniz with calculus. Optics is honestly something don't talk about Newton enough about. His laws of motion are still true, and it's a gross simplification by anti-newton dumbass 'clams. The fact that Newtonian physics is still standard issue teachings through early college cause it's still true for all non-relativistic cases which calls more insane amounts of idk, calculus :cough cough: proves his legacy and lasting work.
