I think that’s more of a hypothesis which I can say with 100% certainty, you need to go back to the drawing board on it because it’s way off.

Yeah, that pretty well sums up my disgust at my party. I still hope some backbone/value materializes but that’s probably fantasy outside of the retiring pubs or local level politicians.

One quibble. Republicans didn't need Trump in particular for a tax cut or conservative judges. Any Republican president would have done the same.
