I’m not sure there will be much of a Republican Party left after this. Hopefully congress will start taking their powers of oversight more seriously in the future.

FYP

There will be a conservative party, but they might have to rebrand and rename themselves.

When you think about the executive powers the president has, this is maybe like the 1000th most scary thing.

I'd guess that not too many of these people have qualms with trading sensitive secrets for personal gain.

you know what truly sucks crap for irl? now the dems get a free pass for all of this stuff. corruption is now on the menu because the pubs approved it, the dems will certainly follow it, and now you have precedent

The end of this whole story might be the only hope of this not occuring

I’m not being technical here. Party names do change like when the Whigs faded away in favor of Republicans around the time of the Civil War.

I'm taking a slight liberty with the lineage, but there has always been a party with the name republican

yeah Thomas Jefferson was a Democratic Republican or something and then they just became republicans and States rights/limited Fed powers/strict constitutionalism was the thing.

The republicans have never had someone nearly as incompetent as Donald Trump leading them.

I'm taking a slight liberty with the lineage, but there has always been a party with the name republican

Which really does nothing to undermine the earlier statement that the current Republican Party could end up effectively changing their name if the situation gets bad enough.

I think this is like the fifth time Cernovich has turned on Trump. He always comes back.
