Maybe so, but at the time per #proglib (now #blueanon) it was no big deal.  So the same thing as destroying evidence and getting a US ambassador killed.   No big deal.

BTW Lick, I know that this is just impossible to believe.  But the DOJ didn’t think it was a big deal either.  Shocking I know.

It took a congressional review to get to the bottom of the situation and discover Berger lied to the DOJ.

Berger also failed to disclose that a bad thing happened.  The Chinese stole our nuclear warhead designs.   Not a biggie though.  Just nuclear weapons.

Berger set precedent, Phil.  Per ProgLib (now #blueanon) - no big deal

And I agree, as we continue to see, there isn’t a dictatorship/corrupt oligarchy  across Eurasia that Biden Family Inc won’t do business with.

This seems to indicate the Berger made his last visit October 2nd and by October 15th DoJ accepted a crimininal refferal and began investigation.

Berger plead guilty 18 months later...

Correct.   After the DOJ failed to do their job.  Lanny Davis was of course involved, calling everyone a liar.

Lanny Davis, Marc Elias - you guys cling to some real goons.  Props!

when was doj involved prior to IG referral?

the report is highly critical of archivists who did not follow proper procedures and led to sweeping changes of protocol

but yes i agree that people that break the law should be held accountable

You’re getting caught up in trying to throw some $64k a year archivists under the bus?  LOL, okay

The 9/11 commission wrote a report that states that the DOJ could not ensure that they had recovered all documents and cast doubt as to whether the DOJ was fully aware of the extent of Berger’s  theft.

The DOJ first believed Berger.  Then their hand was forced.

As usual the person who is wrong is you.

Also, Berger was not disbarred, he voluntarily relinquished his license.

By giving up his license, Berger avoided cross-examination by the Bar Counsel regarding details of his thefts.

Lacking the desire to defend oneself and thus relinquishing a license voluntarily is not disbarment.

The 9-11 commission was less than pleased with the DOJ, and believed that Berger had stolen additional non copied documents.   It was a total failure by the DOJ and they were forced to do something only after the IG and congress were engaged.

The fact that you're trying to throw some a archivists under the bus is just

This is just a terrible look  for always wrong LickNeckey.  Sad

"The National Archives has asked the Department of Justice to investigate former President Donald Trump's handling of White House records, according to a source familiar with the matter."

oh man it really is a Sandy Berger!
