Are the announcers even in the stadium for this game?
« on: November 05, 2016, 03:18:12 PM »
Audio of the crowd is super weird and distant. Also these guys aren't actually saying that much to indicate they're seeing anything that isn't on the TV screen. I know ESPN sometimes has their announcers in the studio just doing voiceovers remotely. Is that what's happening here?

That would make sense, because they are not doing a good job.

Also there was no awkward walk-and-talk with Snyder going into halftime. I legit think they're not there.

Maybe there's not enough room in the press box for them.

It's relaxing like the architectural tour guide at that first big chiPAK.  I like it.

They were in the stadium, but ESPN must be using different audio than others because their broadcasts pick up almost no ambient crowd noise through the announcers mics. I think all of their games sound like they are bent called from a studio.

They were here, chatted with the sideline reporter for a second, have no idea who she is.

Are you talking about Alan Bestwick? If it was him, he's been doing cfb for ESPN for years, even when they had NASCAR. Marty Smith is probably one of their best CFB reporters, he is like besties with Saban.

It was Bestwick and he sucks at college football. Zero knowledge of the game.

Wonder if he's available to coach our remaining games?

Petros was on local radio yesterday lamenting his upcoming schedule at Ames and MHK.  Called Ames the Scarlet A of college football.  Didn't really have anything bad to say about Manhattan other than it wasn't the NY version.

i don't care for Bestwick...his voice rubs me weird.

Marty Smith is really good. I remember reading him when he was at nascar.com. Pretty cool rise for him.

I've seen Dr. Jerry Punch doing some cfb stuff too. Like him and Marty Smith a lot.
