K-State has 14 seasons with 4 or less losses in that time for a reference. Iowa State has 1. My lord.

And we spent part of that time frame neglecting football to focus on our superior academics!

Iowa State's last conference championship was in 1912.

http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/iowa-state/1981-schedule.html

I remember going to this game in 1981 as a high school senior.

That was the year Jim Dickey redshirted our good players prior to the 82 Independence Bowl run.

Iowa State came to Manhattan on Halloween 5-1-1 ranked 11th.  Cats beat them 10-7  behind Mark Hundley running and Reggie Singletary defense.

That started a four-game losing streak to end their season and miss a bowl game.

I remember being in the stands high-fiving with Amos Donaldson and Willl Cokeley.

KSU Rushing Defense #3 (96 yds/g)

ISU Rushing Defense #115 (234 yds/g)

So I assume we'll be airing it out....

The soggy straw is conducive to bacterial growth.  The bacteria will generate heat; the straw was bound to catch on fire regardless.  RIP straw letters

"Did you go to Farmageddon at Trice over the weekend?"
"Nah, I heard we lost because of the refs and an apocalyptical sum of an F5 tornado and a ragin' wildfire, though."
"Yah man, those sun-a-bs."

It needs a Ft. Riley soldier taking a flamethrower to a butter statue at mid-field.

Remember the comeback in 99? So many great things in this article on ISU's website - http://www.cyclones.com/news/1999/9/25/885482.aspx

Quote
Catching the ball at his 6, Allen started left then turned straight upfield. Once he eluded a futile dive by punter Carl Gomez at midfield, Allen was home free. It was his sixth career punt return for a touchdown, one short of the NCAA record, and matched the longest in school history.

Iowa State safety Jeff Waters, on the sideline at the time, said Allen had some help.

"I saw a clip in the back," Waters said. "A lot of our guys were yelling, `Clip, clip.' But officials are human, too. That was a big play for them. It gave them momentum and they carried it over."

Was not aware that Ames was in / close to Eastern time zone.  Maybe they think we are?

I was at this one. Very fun 2nd half.
