He definitely would have gotten more benefit of the doubt. I think he would have had the same big issue that Ron had and that was finding and keeping good, veteran assistants.
Why do you think that? By all accounts Ron was a dick and no one wanted to work for him. I don't see why another coach has these same issues.
Being a dick is overrated, Snyder lost half of his staff during a national championship run because people didn't like working for him. College football coaches are like every other boss, people don't like working for him/her if they're constantly pushing for more.
The bigger issue for Ron and what would have been for Brent is that he was a green head coach following LHC Bill Snyder and the pay wasn't great. Brent has now earned a job like this one, he's going to get paid well and has the juice to get his assistants paid.
