As always, extremely well-timed plane crash or other act of god.
Don't forget stairs. They can be extremely efficient too.

Not for this.

Currie has to go. I don't know enough about his underlings to know if they have to also. Simultaneously, anyone that would be a shitty head coach that Snyder would consider unilaterally installing as HC for "continuity" or whatever has to go too. So maybe a travel catastrophe for an odd catbackers event in which Currie, Sean, and Dimel were all riding together with no players?

The bottom line if either Bill or Currie survive the other, we're probably mumped. It's morbid, but similar hypotheticals are done all the time in family/probate law classes.

Does Bill actually think Sean should be the next HC?  Maybe we've just manufactured this in our minds but really it has no basis in reality.  I mean how could Bill think that?

Someone reported last year that Sean doesn't even want to be the next coach but it was completely ignored on here because presumably it hurt a narrative.

According to Sean's wife and son, last week, Sean still doesn't want to be our head coach. The only one who does is Bill.

Sean and Bill both want Brent.  Brent wants the job.  Bill is waiting out Currie.  We should be rooting for Currie to leave.
Wondering who is running this hot dog stand and seriously considering heading out for tacos.

if that's actually true (I doubt it) Bill should be vocal about it, because the fans want it, and Currie would be hanging himself to go against The Legend AND The Family

And even if true, it would still be safest to eliminate Sean and Dimel first.

This makes me think of the old movie trope where the dad owns a hardware store named after the family but his son just wants to go to the big city and dance or whatever.

I mean, if we won out and Bill retired, there would be plenty of ppl saying we should retain sean, dana, del, etc.

Yes there would be. That may happen at any rate. If 200 is a goal, I hope he gets it as soon as he can so that he can make an objective decision. I'm rambling. I just woke up.

What is Brent's position on returning to MHK that he needs to change??

The last time around, the reason for Snyder's sudden departure (with no plan - let's be honest, Snyder doesn't take a dump without a plan) was he thought he had Venables lined up as the HCIW (made a verbal agreement between the two).  However, at the last minute, he backed out.  This threw everything into chaos and Snyder opted to resign and open the position up that in time led to the Ron Prince festival of fun.

My source on this is about as good as it can be without it being either Snyder or Venables (let's just say someone extremely well-connected to Snyder who is not prone to talking out of his butt).

With this in mind, I just don't know Bill would consider that route again, or Brent would consider it himself.

That said, word always was around the Bill forgave Mangino for be a db, so who knows.  Maybe it all could work out (sunshine pumping away on this one).

Why? The end result would have been similar.

I don't think Brent was ready then.

It's been ten additional years of experience, and he's seen tremendous success away from the Stoops brothers, which was his biggest knock ten years ago.  He was seen as being very green then.  No one considers him green now.  And he's seen a different way of doing things, and that way also got them on the doorstep of a national title.

Brent is one of those few coordinators who everyone in the game is extremely aware of.  He's almost treated like a P5 coach, and I think he gets almost as much credit for Clemson's success as Dabo does in a lot of important circles.

he seems to have the same aura about him that Kirby smart did.  maybe not quite on that level, but a similar "why are you still a coordinator?" type feel.

Obviously he is much more ready to be a HC now than then.  I enjoy the defenses Venzy has played when he was with us, with OU, and now with Clemson.  Having that rather than the Prince stuff would have been fun, imo.

I think it all depends on your supporting cast.  Prince would have been fine if he could have held onto his original staff. (no pun intended #katdaddyno)

Guys. I already got a huge KITN with Underwood.

I can't let the hype get to me for Venzy.  It will hurt too much.

Venzy would have gotten more time because not black.  But would have given away just as many love sweepstakes winnings.
