once all the whipped moderate conservatives come crawling back with their tails between their legs to vote for trump this thing could get interesting nationwide.

Utah R's are theee worst.  The worst.  eff them.  I'd be just fine if the Utah senators and reps all went blue.  Now I'd prefer their electoral votes stay red, but the Congressmen are corrupt rough ridin' retards, and they've tricked their constituents into believing a lot of stupid crap.

The complete opposite of the Utah R's.  That is the source of my frustration with them.  Considering getting the new Chase credit card and hitting my spend sending them a pallet of 'dos.

ALSO!  Those fuckers led the charge and killed in the House the Senate version of the 2015 Energy Bill which passed the Senate like 83-13.  Hate them so hard.

So are you hoping for the Bears Ears NM?  I honestly haven't look at it in much detail, but it seems like it's going to be one of those two options.

I guess I'm not sure what you're talking about then.  I thought you were asking me my opinion on the strong general Utah R position on transferring federal public lands to the state.

Related.  What I'm talking about is focused specifically on a chunk of southeast Utah.  It has essentially come down to the Utah Rs and their Public Lands Initiative versus environmental groups/local tribes and their push for a national monument.  Again I'm not up to speed on the details, but I think the PLI has some land trading and things that work favorably towards future state ownership.

The R's are just rough ridin' wrong when it comes to federal lands.  The states can't afford to manage them on a long term basis.  After a big fire or something they'll be forced to sell them, and in will swoop folks like the Koch brothers to buy, and they'll be gone forever.  We should never advocate or condone the transfer of lands from federal control.  Unless you want to side with the YallQaeda's of the world.  Anyway I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir.

The single issue is an onion with many layers in an of itself.  It can be very nuanced, too.

You should pack a copy of The Monkey Wrench Gang next time you are out scouting elk for a few days.  I think you would enjoy it.

Me neither, but it's a great story and the antagonist is exactly how I picture the Utah Mormon politicians involved in the land disputes to be.

A guy on CNN last night said that some McMullin supporters could bleed into the Nevada election.  I'm not knowledgeable enough on Mormon demographics or if McMullin is on the Nevada ballot, but everyone seemed to nod and say, "Well, that is a possibility."

I doubt he will get a huge write in vote in Nevada, but I guess if there is a large Mormon population there?  Maybe?

there's a large mormon population in nevada (also arizona and idaho), but if he's not on the ballot, it's probably not going to matter.
