You kind of have to go away from the QB run game from time to time unless you think your QB having 30 carries is a good idea.

I agree with this generally, but this is not the scenario to call plays with preserving your qb in mind:
1.  0-1 in conference
2.  Up three points at home, with a loss effectively ending the season
3.  Deep in own territory
4.  Having run for two straight first downs,
5.  Against a team that scored 28 on us in the first half.

Season was on the brink there....wasn't a time to try to maintain balance and preserve qb

I think the Tech game showed that we can still run the ball using our K-State, QB run game, option read/pop pass offense (against a very poor defense).

But this is why I was so frustrated at Dimel at the start of the second half.  After picking up two first down running the ball deep out of our own end zone, we then threw three straight passed and had to punt the ball.  I get balance, but don't go away from something until they prove they can stop it.

you realize Del Miller is the passing game coordinator right dumbass?

There's a reason why people keep ignoring you when you keep saying this; Dana is the playcaller.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Miller is still co-OC and handles putting together a lot of the passing game concepts. I'm sure he gives lots of input and suggestions. From what I understand he also sometimes calls plays in certain passing situations, but the majority of play calls during games come from Dimel.

yeah I get that, but when Snyder came back and hired him, he was the passing game coordinator...

so unless something changed, I would assume he still is.

What does Miller being the "passing game coordinator" have to do with who's calling plays?

It doesn't matter though, Dana is definitely calling the plays, multiple media members including Stanbot, have said so.

coordinators generally call plays.  so if he's a co-offensive coordinator and the passing game coordinator, then yeah, I think he deserves as much blame as Dimel.

Oklahoma state has won 99 of its last 100 games when leading with 0:00 left in the 4th quarter. There's always outliers

That one hurt, but true.

-Mahomes is ridiculous. I heard a guy from Tech speculate that he would declare for the draft after this season and I  jokes on me, he better not come back, he should just quit now. If he's able to play pro style he's going to be a star in the NFL. I don't know what was more impressive, his ridiculously strong and accurate arm or what he did to poor Jordan Willis in the open field on one of his TD runs.

 maybe the first non Tech fan in America to make this observation
