That precisely how I see it. It's obviously fabricated patriotism, and in this case being used to invalidate any real discussion and talk about more serious issues present in the US.

My biggest peeve is people talking and acting oblivious to the playing of the national anthem. Kaep doesn't fall in that category. He's protesting and exercising his First Amendment rights. Fine. Protest away.

This is a fine and reasonable response but what you're doing is essentially leaving all of this in the eye of the beholder because holding a placard is definitely not honoring the flags being presented on the field.

What if it's done with the intent to make the country a better place?  I mean, it seems like a hypocritical thing to fight for freedom then get all offended when ppl exercise said freedom.
