WikiLeaks
« on: August 16, 2016, 11:46:26 AM »
With the recent past releases of the DNC emails, and promises of future such releases, as well as the below, I think these guys finally deserve their own thread:

http://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/291565-wikileaks-too-claims-to-have-nsa-code

Wikileaks posting a free pristine copy of an NSA spyware malware code.   :surprised:

Quote
The auction for an advanced, National Security Agency-linked cyberweapon just became cheaper.

After a day of speculation over whether the previously unknown “Shadow Brokers” could really be auctioning off an authentic stolen copy of the vaunted espionage group’s source code, WikiLeaks announced it would be releasing a free, “pristine” copy.

WikiLeaks — and The Shadow Brokers — claim to have copies of the code behind the Equation Group, labeled “one of the most sophisticated cyber attack groups in the world” when it was discovered last year. The operation went under the radar for 14 years before being discovered, well longer than other known attackers.

Equation is usually described as an NSA team because of similarities between its work and other projects attributed to the spy agency, as well as the use of NSA jargon within the program’s core.

An auction notice by Shadow Brokers placing hacked source code of Equation malware gained wide attention Monday. While inconclusive, files the Brokers released as proof it had the code appeared legitimate enough to pique the security community's interest.

Do you think WL was founded as a Russian intelligence operation or that it was co-opted?

I don't have info enough to make a decision.

Also,

More info on the NSA malware with input from Snowden.

Thing is fellas, the NSA may have allowed the "hack".  That's why the NSA doesn't really give an eff about our gov't getting hacked.  They then hack the hackers.

This may belong in the Hill Thread, but White House just formally accused Russia of the DNC email hack and apparently, they are discussing things like economic sanctions or some sort of action against the computer facilities.

Cold War 2.0?  I mean, just yesterday we formally ended talks with them on Syria.

Also, this apparently ties Wikileaks to Russia.  Maybe that is the plan, who knows.  I doubt we would spit in Russia's face just to discredit anything Wikileaks may release tomorrow regarding Hill, but who knows.

Well, yeah, but what is new is that the White House is formally accusing ppl and seem to be ready to set up sanctions and stuff.  That doesn't happen everyday.

One time 6 year old Emo was playing with his friends in West Germany and he swore a Mig 21 flew overhead and freaked out and ran inside and told his dad the Russians are coming and he better put on his BDU's and get to work!  He said no and I flipped and cried a lot.

Yup, the good old days.

So nothing has changed?

Rick and Paula, the next door neighbors?  Moved out.  He got drunk, hit her.  Dad says she deserved it for always running her mouth.

New folks have birds.  That's all I know so far.

Oh man I found it!

In my mind's eye that park in the middle was Donald Trump HUGE.  Looking at it now I'm sure TBT could launch a softball right over it (if he weren't crippled).
