I've got a guy coming out next week to quote installation of an in ground pool. Have any of you guys put one of these in?  If so,  do you have any pro-tips or recommendos in the process?

I think the salt water pools are easier to maintain

That is what I understand as well.  I told the guy that we wanted to go that route for the chlorination of the water.  I also told him I wanted one of those automatic cleaners that runs around the bottom of the pool like a Roomba.

you are going to regret doing this just FYI.  It sounds like you have already convinced yourself though. If you still decide to go through with it don't get a liner or a motorized cover.

I was actually looking at roomba's the other day and the same company has like a moping robot, a gutter cleaner robot, and a pool cleaning robot

Don't go cheap on the number of joints if you need multiple ones. Also you can get a cordless vac from ACCO.

The best thing you could do is talk a family member or neighbor into getting a pool instead, imo

Boats are dumb. Never understood the hype surrounding going, "boating," on a lake.

If it is a great lake, you can have a great time.

A cheap boat is great.  I mean, as long as it is reliable, who cares if you only use it twice a yr.  I plan to get such a boat for fishing in the next few yrs

Pools and boats are the same - it is best to have a friend with one instead of having your own.

Super exciting that my friend XT is getting a pool.  :D

I can’t put a pool in my backyard. I’m willingness to drop a decent amount of money at a private pool. However, every single one of them near me don’t have umbrellas or shade. Just a giant concrete roasting deck. It’s driving me crazy.

Is because your house was built on a cemetery where they only moved the headstones and not the graves?
