I would assume that's standard for country music concerts, they do it at country awards shows.

Heard from someone who went that it filled up pretty steadily as the bands went on, and one person estimated there were probably about 18,000 people there. Can anyone confirm/deny?

Outside of north icat the whole bottom was full, scattered seats in the upper deck.  It was a lot of fun, I hope they do it again.
