We'll be better, but like 7-8 wins. If we had this year's schedule set up like last year, we might push 9. all the @ games and @Stanford hurts, and ku as a home game is a waste of a home game. Rather keep that game permanently an away game until they get within a TD of actually beating us.

7 is the cutoff or else.

8 is great but as c1 pointed out, 7 is the cutoff

this really isn't the appropriate venue to discuss the consequences of getting 6 wins or less but if we want to open up that can of worms, be my guest

I think we can talk about the 6 win sin in a new thread, but I don't want to rock the boat anymore than I have been lately.

I'd love to venture a guess as to what the lineup would look like and how good it would be, but after the last couple of years, especially on the OL, I honestly can't say that I fully understand what this coaching staff is thinking/wanting.

You'd imagine that these JUCO guys they're bringing in (i.e. Pringle, Beecham, etc.) would get a look, but it seems like history shows we'd rather bury a lot of those guys and play walk-ons and grayshirts.

Common sense says you'd have Delton starting at QB, Zuber, Heath, Pringle, Goolsby, and Burton at WR, Matthews and Beecham on the OL, etc.  But, honestly, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hubener start, a OL full of former walk-ons, and Reuter at WR.

Do I think we "could" be better?  Yes.  Do I think we will?  I have no idea.  Why?  Because this coaching staff seems to care about things other than talent when determining who plays.

Chances are Delton never sees a meaningful snap at QB while at KSU.  That's just the way it is.

I don't even have faith they'll play Thompson.  I wouldn't at all be surprised if we see Hubener this year and Ertz riding to the huddle on a Segway for a couple of years after that.

I think this is probably Bill's last year.

I vote starting The Captain (Sky-Guy Thompson) day 1 because he's a huge stud, which also means he'll probably never play. :frown:

This off-season feels exactly like the one going into Prince's last season. There's absolutely nothing to get excited about and even the most optimistic of us know that it's going to be a disaster. The only thing we have to look forward to is the possibility of a coaching change at the end of the season. It sucks that this is how Snyder is going out.

it only feels that way for debbie downer types, like yourself.  realistic studs know we're getting at least 7 wins.  that's the magic number, 7.

If I remember correctly, the best player in ksu history was #7.  And he started playing for ksu in 1997.  And he led the cats to, you guessed it, 7 conference wins in '97 before the cats beat Syracuse in the Fiesta bowl by a score of 35-18, which is, you guessed it, a margin of 17 points.  And that season the cats finished #7 in the coaches poll.  A great season propelled mainly by a Great Effort by the entire team, which is, you guessed it, goal #7.  Magic number indeed.
