Smacked a buck with the Escape tonight. So, car shopping. Well SUV shopping. Nissan Rogue. Jeep Grand Cherokee. Cadillac XT5/6. Don't need a land yacht like Steve Dave. So many choices in the mid size game.

that's the best size to shop. there are very limited options in the jumbo entire baseball team infield and gear category that I was shopping in and it sucked. I really like the new jeep gc. I'd love a 4XE one.

My new Yukon has "google built in" which I believe means google designed the interface. Has google app store and all that crap. Also apple car play. my phone automatically connects to carplay obviously. sometimes I'm listening to sirius xm while waiting in line at the car wash or something and grab my phone and fire up twitter or some other app. this immediately triggers it to switch from sirius to apple carplay like I'm trying to play sound from whatever app I'm on through my car speakers.

question: how the eff do I make that no?
Similar issue with wireless Android Auto. In settings-phones, clicked off android auto. Only let phone connect via Bluetooth.

This is with a 21 Sierra

We ended up going with an Expedition, but I was squarely on the fence with the Cadillac XT6 for quite awhile.

if you aren't going to be offroad, i'm a fan of the hyundai/kia family.  they have hybrids in both their small midsize and big midsize that seem pretty nice.

I think that is the case.  However, I think if you disable the Autoplay videos function on your apps it may help.  I have noticed that the only time mine tries to switch over is when there is a video or audio that starts playing on the phone.  :dunno:

My buddy has a Hyundai Palisades.  One of the nicest vehicles I've ridden in.

My wife and I were looking at both the Telluride and Palisade prior to covid but didn't have much of a need with us both working from home now.  When I was researching the Palisade, they said the leather starts to stink like rotting eggs after about a month.  I'd assume this is fixed now and only an issue in the first ones off the line, but would look into it before buying one.  It was bad enough that Hyundai put out a statement that they were researching a fix, but I don't really know how you fix something like that.

They were suuuper hard to find in DFW when we car shopped last year. I really liked the blackout(?) edition, but hated the amber driving lights and the price was mid $50k+ for a KIA.

That's gotta hurt sales!

I'm sure it did! But, luckily they had the quick fix of just chucking head rests into the trash while you wait for a new one.  The Kia and Hyundai quality has really be impressive over the last decade though.  I'd definitely consider them if I were shopping.

VW is supposed to finally announce the details of the production version of the electric bus in March.

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/vw-id-buzz-electric-microbus-bus-march-reveal/

I really want one of these, and am going to get on whatever "list" they announce.  Armed with President Brandon's new nationwide socialist charging network, I will be able to cruise this bad boy to Northern MN to my preferred summer time location. I will virtue signal my rough ridin' ass off!

I reserved a Bronco last week.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i reserved mine on the day they were announced and hope I take delivery in 2021.  heard recently they were up to 170k reservations, not all of which will turn into actual orders but I would definitely expect your order to be built in 2022.

Any update on your reservation, clams?  I got an email this week saying that it would be May before I can come into the dealership to finalize my order.
i thought my email said feb
as a day 1 reservation person i still expect to have mine in 3Q, thinking 2 door sasquatch badlands oxford white lux package but i seem to change my mind every day

well it’s been almost two years since I reserved this thing and since i was an early reservation holder who still is waiting, last thursday i got an email from ford offering me a bronco raptor allocation and that truck is so over the top ridiculous so of course I decided to take them up on it.
go cats on this rough ridin' tank.  taco bell drive through watch out.
