Saw a lot of slightly lifted Subaru’s last week driven by fly fishers and geared out hiking ladies. Seems like a good option if you don’t have a ton of kids to haul around sys.

Yeah, I could be okay in a wagon.  I probably would already have an outback if it wasn’t a little longer than I want.  I’ll have to look at others.  And I’ve totally been checking out Subarus with a 1-2“ lift.  Mrstdaver is not a fan  :shakesfist:

Big fan of the Volvo wagon and crossover.

From a price point, I went with a lease return Ford Escape. Plenty of room for me and my usual travels. Fold the rear seats and my road bike fits with front tire attached. Plenty of room for my weekly luggage. 2.4L Turbo has enough power. No back issues as I've experienced with other vehicles.

i'm considering a crosstrek hybrid.  the price to mileage/legroom doesn't seem quite as compelling as what i'm hoping for in the hyundai/kias when they come out, but it's definitely on the list

what i think i really want is to get a sonata hybrid and then have it lifted like 2 inches.  but i don't even know if they do that and if so if everyone looks at you superweird when you drive it.

and also if it fucks something up or something.

Just be prepared for smirks and giggles behind your back.  Maybe even a smart remark from a coworker or two.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

Just wait until he hits them with the MPG's, though. He'll be collecting their jaws from the floor.

I drove a Prius C for a few years when I had a field service rep job. 40K miles a year at 55c a mile. Laughed all the way to the bank.

I imagine Sys is more into how well he can get around muddy construction sites in comfort.

This is the picture used on the site where the rear seat cover option is offered, which makes the entire car pretty desirable.

i did not know this existed.  this is a big point in favor of the crosstrek.

i don't think it would be that noticeable.  just a small suspension lift and put in tires with more sidewall than those stupid ass thin tires that new cars come with now.

maybe more like an inch and half than two inches.

yep.  i calculate my depreciation costs on my elantra at like .07/mile and gas at like .10/mile.  it's been awesome.
