If Maryland had knocked down a couple of shots they had stretches to get back in the game. KU got stuck at 50 points and 60 points for multiple minutes if I recall correctly. They had a few open looks to do it too, but couldn't throw the ball in the ocean.

i believe KSU wanted to only pay 1 year of his buyout, not two - almost the exact scenario with McNeck & ISU.  I don't think Max Ulrich had hired Altman either iirc.

uh, we sucked and alumni hated him because he was terrible with the media and in front of anyone but his team.  players liked him and he recruited at a decent clip.

he recruited decently, but his teams struggled offensively. like clams said, he felt heat and bounced for Creighton as opposed to sticking around for another year and maybe getting canned.

Beane saved so many games in 92-93. There was a 45 second shot clock then, and the offense often involved running clock for 30-35 seconds then going 1-4 low and letting Beane drive and kick to Jackson, Ski, DC or AC.

The next year, we never really replaced Jackson or Collier. Belvis and Demond Davis had potential, but they were raw JUCO athletes. Also, the shot clock changed to 35 seconds which hurt Altman's ball control offense.
