He took the guy out, if nova guy jumps over him he probably gets called for traveling

Yeah, just because no one has the ball yet, doesn't mean you can plow through someone else to get it.

Nova guy is holding the ball.  If Graham doesn't come in, he is standing there with the ball

NOVA wins by 22 if that game is officiated straight up.

I mean when he starts his dive, it's still a loose ball.  But that's irrelevant,  because you still can't just dive thorough someone because the ball is loose.

When it happened I thought they were going to call Graham for traveling. At end of day, it doesn't matter.

Here is a KU fan take on the situation, with great mention of Bob Davis:

Yep. And did anyone else hear the radio broadcast? Pretty sure Bob Davis was irate about an official getting in Graham's face after a particularly bad call. And shortly after that, Davis said loudly "The same official that has made all the questionable calls against KU is standing right in front of us!" To which Gurley quietly said "You think he can hear you?" and Bob yelled "I HOPE HE CAN!"

KU fans really have nothing to complain about either way.  They should be proud of reaching the Elite 8 once again (and winning the conference and the conference tournament).  And, they have "issues" with that, don't look at the refs, look at your top 10 all time scorer who did NOT show up, and your air balling would-be NBA wing, and your PG who had a legendarily bad tournament.

The only part of the Graham call that the refs got wrong was it should've been a loose ball foul with Nova shooting free throws, not a player control foul.

I thought the Graham call was pretty bad. Or at least very unusual.

The Nova guy had both hands on the ball and Graham wiped him into next week.  It was a foul
It's typically not called, and the ref acted like he kicked one of the guys trapping him when he made the call. They were able to save face by going to the monitor to see who was fouled (and as townie mentioned they still got that wrong).

Of course the call would be moot if KU knew how to handle light pressure at half court.

So, if they don't call that foul ku loses by 3 instead of 5, or do they still lose by 5

It's probably not a call that's usually going to be made, but without the call Graham still slid several feet with the ball and probably gets called for traveling and things play out almost exactly as they did.

It's almost guaranteed that if the roles where reversed and the call is not made there'd be just as much outrage from KU fans.

Here is a stat I would like to know (and probably start circulating, if it comes out as I expect):  Ku has won the big 12 twelve straight years, but in how many of those years were they the last big 12 team alive in the ncaa?  Off the top of my head, I can only think of three years where that has occurred.

It's 5/12.  Less than half of the time has the league's 12-time defending champion been the best in the ncaa.  Very curious.

We agree KU didn't play well tonight however, if someone can explain how Graham was correctly called for tripping that would be spectacular!  Also, how about the lack of travels called by the officials (on both teams).  The foul discrepancy i.e. one team having many more fouls than the other. The mugging of Mason at the end of the game, not called, etc... We are not blaming the loss on the officials but the officials played a part in the outcome and that shouldn't be the case - they shouldn't "decide" who will win the game!

This is basically complaining about 2 late calls. The Graham loose ball foul and then the play where Arcidiacano almost traveled.  Notice how this fan says both teams got away with travels in the game (ummm sure, just saying that so it doesn't appear all the bad calls went against Ku)

A different fan was complaining that Nova only had 3 fouls the last 13:30 after having 6 in the first 6:30 of the 2nd half.  Said it was Bullsh*t....lol.  I guess Nova having 6 fouls to Ku 2 with 13:30 left was totally acceptable though

it was a clear and obvious foul.  good lord, people will pretend anything is complex and debatable.
