At one point, they immediately switched a song out to Poison to circumvent the cadence of the "eff KU" chant.  Worked like a charm.

Actually I don't hate that idea.

So focused on confusing and disorienting the students, that during timeouts, the administration starts and stop 150 songs so closely together that they're impossible to clap to, much less chant to.  The OOD OST is just a confusing, incomprehensible mess of painfully loud sounds, lest the fans will organize and say bad stuff.  I really don't hate that idea. Like a dystopian nightmare.

If we just keep losing games, nobody will watch us on tv anyway, so at least the students won't be quite as big of an embarrassment.

I for one, thought it was a disgrace that our student section didn't lead the OOD in a "Good effort, good effort" chant to really show those BasketCats that we appreciate them clawin' hard for a close loss.

is there something specific he said in the interview that has you fired up?  i thought it was a good interview and he did a decent job defending himself.

His general way of speaking sounds very politician-y and out of touch to me.  I also don't like when he says "people tell me all the they love/hate ________" to justify his decisions.

Also, everything Trim already covered.

Speaking from the perspective of someone working in academia for the past decade, it amazes me just how much Administrators view the students as some problem that needs controlled. The "what if the students get out of control" line is a constant, not just in athletics, but also in the classroom. I was initially shocked by this, but have come to the realization that rough ridin' old people with power like to bully young, powerless people. What students don't always realize is that they hold an incredible amount of power when the Administration cowers behind sportsmanship pledges and forces their underpaid security staff to eject students with "unsavory" signs.

Administrators use arbitrary authority in ways that would make Stalin proud. That's only part hyperbole.

Listening to this ADJC 610 interview, my god I hate it.

There were probably texts and they may or may not have decided during the game to play the song, but it certainly wasn't as Currie described it - as a reward for not saying eff.  Cats were eff KU'n away all day long with it being publicized by every media type there, culminating with kstatesports sending a mass text to students begging them to stop, before sandstorm'n anyway.  Either sandstorm was planned from jump or the administration gave up and decided to play it and spin the circumstances as Currie ended up doing on 610.

So millennials can get out under the oppressive thumb of mommy and daddy by anonymously shouting the word eff.

If I know that be thing about college kids its that the quickest way to get them to stop doing things is to tell them they can't do them

100% correct. I wonder who the bad person was who three years ago said "guys you know that sandstorm song we've been whipping our hoots and dongs out on for years, definitely don't start saying eff during it, that won't be tolerated."
