Says two people who never went to Stanford. Case closed!

It's their official policy to give no Fs, wacky.
That's also my official policy.

WackyTuck is a very by the book guy when he needs to be.  A real stickler for details and front line information.   None of this anecdotal crap for the Wackster.

Rage, I don't want to muddy up this thread over this subject. I know you're smart enough to know that Harvard/Yale law's end goal is to prepare you for one giant test and to make you the best at what you do afterwards. What's crazy are a lot of these programs turn out some of the best of the best. Crazy, I know. They also have extensive admission requirements like you listed, so they don't have to deal with a bunch of rubes in their programs.

I just find it laughable that people still think a school is preserving academic integrity by applying stringent admissions standards to athletes while other dumb kids can just buy or bribe their way in. Everyone graduates from these schools, regardless.

I'm not at all saying they're not very fine institutions of higher learning.

They're also not dumb.   For example wealthy legacy families tend to get butt hurt if grandson #3 flunks out.   That isn't to say they won't flunk out eff ups, they will.

IMO there's a tier of schools such as Carnegie Mellon where a higher level of real academic pressure lies.   Schools that are less in the limelight in terms of being household names but still truly elite academic institutions.   Anecdotally I've been told by those ITK that schools within the domain I mentioned really don't give an eff who you are, who your family is etc. etc.  Either you cut it or they cut you.

Local African-Americans aren't all that thrilled with them:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/18/us/duke-durham-light-rail-chapel-hill.html?emc=edit_th_190319&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=208921680319

And Kevin Primus, a former manager of the Duke men’s basketball team, said the rejection of the light-rail plan justified the school’s reputation among some African-Americans like him, who still occasionally refer to it as “the plantation.”

They can love the crap out of Zion but hate the hell out of the institution of Duke University.
