IIRC correctly the PE options at my high school in OP were:

1. Boys PE
2. Team Games
3. Weight Lifting
4. Aerobics
5. Lifetime Sports

I think that was it. I dunno maybe lifetime sports played pickleball.

Pickleball looks like some guy said "Let's mix tennis with wiffleball." And then another guy (Dobber) said, "Yeah but we have to use ping-pong paddles and let's make an area called 'The Kitchen' so we can tell all the girls they have to stay in that area."

I think ours were similar but no "team games" (but maybe there was?)

I was required to take weightlifting every semester cuz football

lifetime sports was like bowling, maybe tennis, etc. I never took it.

Guys like me (non-athlete type) took team games. It was basically supervised pick up basketball/softball/flag football etc. Athletes took weight lifting

did anyone play a variant of kickball, that might have been called mat-ball or something? The bases were mats, but you didn't have to run if you didn't want to and as many people as you wanted could be on a base at any given time. I remember it being awesome in jr. high.

lifetime sports was a mix of that crap. golf, tennis, bowling, etc. pickle ball was played in that class too, but it must of hit the district between you graduating and me entering my sophomore year.

we used to play that in junior high, but the pe teacher couldn't get us to quit rocking kids in the head with the kick balls when they were running between mats, so they killed it.
