the only reason im against it is because he is a known locker room cancer

Based on OU's performance this year, I'd be ok with that kind of cancer.

I think he was voted a team captain alongside Mayfield  :dunno:

Our returning QB's consist of:
1- a guy who is coming off major knee surgery and played 2 snaps, was a 2* out of HS
2-a qb who has proven he is absolutely nothing special and below average at best and was in some games replaced by a WR
3-see #1 but with a few more snaps and not as bad of an injury and was a 3*
4-a juco kid who couldn't beat out a WR to play QB
5-some HS recruit

and you guys are arguing over whether Trevor is good enough for us?

I mean, we aren't Baylor talking about if he would be a good fit. We are a team who was realistically going to have Charles jones playing full time QB if our WR that was playing QB at the time was injured.

I seem to be the only person arguing against him and whether or not he's "good enough for us" isn't my argument at all. Also calling Skyler Thompson "some HS recruit" is unnecessarily disingenuous.

Having one of our young quarterbacks get a year of experience is infinitely more important than having Trevor Knight come in here and go 8-5 at best and then we have to go into 2017 having to groom another starting quarterback again, what would be our 4th in 4 years. We have a chance to develop some stability at the most important position in sports and Knight at K-State simply isn't good enough to bypass that. It is baffling to me that no one else can see that.

It isn't disingenuous when you factor in that Bill has never started a true freshman despite having terrible alternatives.  Skyler Thompson will be lucky to see the field by his redshirt sophomore year, if history shows us anything at all.

Why wouldn't we take him? If Delton or Ertz are better then fantastic, we have a great back up option when Ertz and Delton get hurt.

This is all moot, of course, because Trevor is absolutely not coming here.

He's not coming here or anywhere else that can't/won't offer him assurances. Why don't you think he won't go to K-State? It's been reported that he and the coaches have had contact.

Besides assuring Trevor that he will have to memorize the 16 principles, what else on earth do you honestly think our staff would ever assure him.

I certainly would hope that they wouldn't assure him the starting job, but Del and Dana never cease to amaze me and I don't mean that in a good way. From what I understand Thompson committed to Del so that gives me some hope that he wouldn't recruit the best high school QB prospect Snyder's staff has ever had and then tell some dude with 14 tds and 12 ints that he can come and start.
I do think that if they tell him that he can come here and start while they develop the young QBs, he's absolutely coming.

I don't think Trevor (potentially) coming here has anything to do with Skylar playing (or not playing) next year. What could we have possibly promised Skylar about next year?  That he would, at a minimum, be behind Ertz and Delton and Hubener?

Do we not have that rule any longer where you lose a year of eligibility if you transfer in conference?

Didn't OU's current starter transfer from Tech?  Did he lose a year?
