puniraptor, please compare and contrast the japanese carrot scene with the american carrot scene.
comparisons: available, orange, whole
contrasts: no "baby" carrots, round fatties compared to long skinnies, not used very often in local cuisine
in general, the quality and diversity of available produce here far exceeds the US norm. carrots seem to be an exception. I really only see this one kind, but in my experience they are very good as far as carrots go.
