He was like the head of the KC Fire Department. Nick was definitely privileged (and turned super radical due to it) and KK is a huge dipshit. I find it as entertaining as the new Godzilla/King King movie.

I honestly never really knew what his father did. Nick always talked about growing up around the fire department and every one at Entercom use to talk about what a big deal his father was. I mushed them together with my 23 year old brain at the time.

For someone with privilege, he's very preachy on how everyone lives their lives. That's the point here. KK isn't far off and that was an idiotic statement by Nick. They both suck.

I don't really like the NBA, but that's because we don't have a team. And even if we had one, I'd only watch if we were awesome.  I don't like hockey either, but no one ever accuses me of hating white people because of it. I wouldn't watch hockey even if we had a team and they were awesome.

You and I are basically the same other than I would prob watch the crap out of hockey if KC had a team and was good. Playoff hockey is fun. I don't really watch it because I have no rooting interest, but its fun. Even the Frozen Four in college is pretty fun to watch.

In my experience, hockey tickets are also super affordable. I'd learn to like hockey if I could get primo seats on the cheap. It can also be fun to watch.

Every morning in the summer when I was a kid I would watch the old black and white Home Run Derby series on ESPN.  It was fantastic.  Hank Aaron vs Herman Munster and crap like that.  A truly great non-live televised sports experience!

I like listening to Nick and Lazlo talk sports, easily my favorite part of the church. I'm in the middle about Nick, I think like most guys in that position it's all about making bold claims to get the clicks, but he can obviously be pretty preachy.

It is though absolutely hilarious for kk to call Nick a failure given how one was kicked off his own show and the other has his own national morning show and lives in NYC, the height of a chef's kiss lollers comment by him

Totally! KK is just fluffing up his head to head ratings vs him for a few years. The rest is history.

I went to his dad's website and you are both right, he is the general counsel for the firefighters union.

BTW, the narrative that Nick was some rich kid with an easy road is definitely not the story he tells. The people that have started that talking point definitely has the motivation to try to make that a reality, just as he has a stake in the opposite being true, I'm sure the fact lies in the middle.

I really didn't know about the dude until recently when I heard him as a guest on Dan Lebatard & Bomani Jones's podcasts. These are really good podcasts, he talks about his life in both of them, in one he talks about Keitzman kicking his ass in the ratings, sorry I don't remember which. He also talks about Whitlock, I believe in both. Whitlock was close to both Nick and Bomani until he went full blown MAGA. I think Bomani and Nick mentions Whitlock every time they talk together on a podcast.

I will say I enjoy it when Nick Wright and Lazlo talk sports...Nick will go on some 3 min rant about whatever the hot news story of the day is and Lazlo will just grunt and eventually interrupt him and say "Look Nick, I don't really care about that. Are the Lions ever going to win a game"?

Also I think it cool that big time nick wright still calls in to talk sports with some of his hometown buds, doubt he gets paid for it at all.
