NHL is the best live sport experience imho

are there any good non-live sport experiences?

Every morning in the summer when I was a kid I would watch the old black and white Home Run Derby series on ESPN.  It was fantastic.  Hank Aaron vs Herman Munster and crap like that.  A truly great non-live televised sports experience!

Yes, played at old Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, I believe. Also, "This week in Baseball" was the bee's knees.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Nick is funny, but he's a huge ass too. I enjoy the Lazlo segment as well. I use to smoke heaters with the guys downstairs on break. They talked A LOT of politics. I seriously thought Nick would change direction like Olbermann.

BTW, the narrative that Nick was some rich kid with an easy road is definitely not the story he tells. The people that have started that talking point definitely has the motivation to try to make that a reality, just as he has a stake in the opposite being true, I'm sure the fact lies in the middle.

I really didn't know about the dude until recently when I heard him as a guest on Dan Lebatard & Bomani Jones's podcasts. These are really good podcasts, he talks about his life in both of them, in one he talks about Keitzman kicking his ass in the ratings, sorry I don't remember which. He also talks about Whitlock, I believe in both. Whitlock was close to both Nick and Bomani until he went full blown MAGA. I think Bomani and Nick mentions Whitlock every time they talk together on a podcast.

I don't think Nick and Whitlock ever were close/liked each other. Nick told a great story about it with Lazlo, here is the TLDR Version

Nick gets hired on at Fox where Whitlock is currently working, VP knows they don't like each other and tells them to meet up and hash it out.

Nick keeps trying to set up dinner with Whitlock but keeps getting blown off.

Eventually VP sits them in a room together and Nick starts talking about how they don't have to like each other but its disrespectful when Whitlock won't even acknowledge him trying to set up a meeting. "At least show me enough respect to meet with me!"

Whitlock deadpan looks at Nick and says "Lets get one thing straight, I've never respected you"

MIR, I worked with him for two years, but ok.

Fanning's drunkenly scribbled notes on a sheet of scratch paper. Something about bad breath and chain smoking menthol heaters iirc.

And how much money each personality makes

Oh man, me too! "Welcome to Home Run Derby." Did you also watch The Baseball Bunch with Johnny Bench?

LOL, yeah. Jason mentored Bomani , and Nick and Bomani are very close, and of course Nick and Jason's thing goes way back. I've gotten the impression that Jason didn't like Nick because Jason thought Nick was trying to use his wife to "pass" which is incredibly ironic.

i really like nick wright and really really liked his midday show back in like, summer 2009 on 610.

he's ridiculous and says ridiculous things, but if you go into it understanding that he's slinging scorching hot takes, it's pretty nice.

fwiw i haven't seen his fox show because i don't really care about pro sports very much.

He's a frequent guest on Cowherd. They're perfect for each other.

I've never watched or listened to any of his shows, but he's entertaining as hell when I hear him on something I regularly consume.

They just fired his coworker. Seems like bad business to start calling out white people for being excited about a verdict and backing #BLM.  :dunno:
