This really is going to be fantastic.  Looking forward to the free tickets to Memorial (dump track around the field) Stadium like the good ol' days.   :ksu:

I can't wait until we outnumber them in their own stadium (again) and rip their goalposts down.

Then it should be followed by copious amounts of vandalism.  Setting fires to cars, couches, trees, etc.

 :garr:

beating ku is not a big deal.

Agreed.  I'm just up for burning other people's couches.

that and getting drunk. Sounds like a kstate fan to me....
Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.

Gill jumped the shark in my mind as soon as I saw that B.E.L.I.E.V.E. video.    And I even liked the guy at first.

http://www2.kusports.com/news/2010/apr/12/kus-gill-lead-pledge-against-drugs/

Although he has had his hands full with football so far, Kansas University football coach Turner Gill has found plenty of ways to demonstrate how important community is to him.

KU officials announced recently that during halftime of the Jayhawks’ April 24 Spring Game, Gill plans to lead a group of youths and their parents in a pledge against the use of drugs.

In a letter sent to all of Lawrence’s elementary schools last week, Gill wrote: “I want you to know that we teach our players what you are learning in your health and science classes at school — drugs are not fun and they can harm you, your friends and your family. Together, we can all take the pledge and promise to live a drug-free lifestyle.”

The reading of the pledge, which can be obtained upon entering Memorial Stadium the day of the game, will be led by Gill and senior defensive back Chris Harris.

In addition, the first 500 youths who arrive can pick up a “Drug-Free Jayhawk” bracelet and the first 5,000 fans will receive a free T-shirt.

must not have used drugs before  :excited: :bong: :drink: :driving:

yeah, to say drugs are not fun is completely irresponsible. The rest may be true, but drugs are definitely fun.

We should all like the guy.  He's going to do wonders for KSU.

Agreed.  In my experience, the guys who aare overtly religious and jam it down everyone's throat, usually have some vicious skeletons in their closet.

Wave just hasn't been the same since Mangino was fired.  Heaven forbid a program fire a coach who lost seven straight games to finish off the season, and a coach who had one winning conference season in eight years.  At least give Gill a chance before you start comparing him to Ron Prince.  IIRC, Prince had no head coaching experience, and never won three national championships as an assistant.

Beems, what are your thoughts on Gill making students say drugs aren't fun?

Just a heads up BMW, a coach who had one winning season in four years at a MAC school got promoted to your head coach.

Just sayin  :dunno:

Read rumblings from KUers about his recruiting style being similar to Prince's.
