I've got a guy in one of our branches that hits me with this everytime he calls:

"Hey, this is Bob, Bob in Great Bend"

which is obvious when my phone display says Bob - Great Bend.

I know he knows better, since he knows it's me when I call him. Don't even bother introducing myself.

I think this is more your fault for not saying "Hi, Bob" when you answer the phone.

There would be a 2 minute moment of silence while Bob figured out what the hell was going on.  Probably just hang up and call me back.

"Hi Dad, its Stanton Weber, how's it going?"

I bet yes.

At family gatherings, they probably announce their entire lineage:
"Stanton, son of Stan, son of Stanleigh, son of Stanwahl, son of Stonewall, clan Webber"

Stan just said in postgame that after games, Stanton goes up to the box and waits for dad to finish so they can go off and do family stuff.
