I really like these hit pieces where they leave out why the Turks were jeering FIFA, and not the moment of silence.

you're also insane.

Oh I decided to do a little search on the latest edn whack-a-doodleness, and lets put it like this, if Turk apologists have to explain themselves that much.   Then they sure as hell weren't boo'ing FIFA.

Now, they do have a specific slogan they chant at soccer matches when they have moments of silence due to deaths from their racist war against the Kurds.   But these explanations of boo'ing FIFA are laughable.

I've listened to the video and have yet to hear that chant during the moment of silence.  They were chanting other things but I'll leave that  for you to find out.  I know all those funny languages sound like Team America Islamic talk to you, but there actually are differences.

I guess your reading level is about on par with KSUW and Dax, I thought better of you.  Why don't you look to see how well the moment of silence went after their terrorist attacks.

that not all turks agree with inappropriate nationalist/islamist chants at football games is not the same thing as pretending they didn't happen.

he is referencing similar chants during a moment of silence at a football game following the bombing in ankara.

This post is very poorly structured.

I'm not saying I agree with their actions, but there was a reason for it.  It's not meant to be total disrespect to the victims of the Paris attacks as KSUW makes it out to be.

it had nothing to do with fifa, which was your ridiculous claim.

So you're telling me the Turks don't have a legit beef with FIFA for not going to the same level of recognition for their terror attacks?

I think we can all agree that the process that was used to bring those Middle Eastern refugees inside our borders needs to be copied and applied to those problematic regions where terrorists have bamboozled the process and entered the US.

there's no point arguing with someone that is stupid, dishonest or insane.

you posted a story about the international media focusing less attention on terrorist attacks in kenya, presumably in support of your assertion that turkish football fans disregarded a moment of silence for the parisian victims because they were jeering fifa.  fifa is a rich and powerful organization in the context of international sport; however, there is no evidence that they influence international coverage of tragedies.  to insinuate a connection is stupid, dishonest or insane.

So you just claimed that FIFA doesn't control whether or not to have a moment of silence before their games?  Are you that stupid?  Of course FIFA is controlling exactly how these games are scripted before and after the match.  To say otherwise is just baseless and absurd.

I re-read your posts Sys, and you're completely missing the point.  It wasn't jeering FIFA in the sense you are taking it.  It was a jeer at FIFA and the rest of the world for not acknowledging other acts in the same way people are for Paris.  That is why the criticism from Kenya is also valid. The western world has blinders on to acts of violence outside of Europe, as noted in the NPR piece.  The Turks do have some validity to their complaint that FIFA didn't do as much for "their" tragedy as for Paris.  Now was it crass and overshadowing to the point of undermining their criticism, eff yes, but there is still a point of truth to it.

I'd suggest anyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus, take a look at his answer when asked "who is my neighbor" in Luke chapter 10. I'd also suggest those who claim to follow Jesus, but fear death and terrorism from refugees, consider what Paul says about death in Philippians 1 verse 21.

Safety is a complete illusion. You are not safe and neither am I. I believe the 1st role of government is protection of citizens from its enemies, from foreign and domestic threats to our lives and liberty. However, that's not who these people are. They are refugees. What a long con that would be to be displaced from your home and pushed around by bullies like ISIS as a way to pretend to be a good guy so you could get here and blow something up.

Most reasonable thing written ITT. Also treating these people like crap when they get here is a guaranteed reason for them to potentially rethink their decision and thoughts about the US. Have them come here and treat them with dignity and humanity, they'll be prosperous friends and allies for a long time. Even if they move back to Syria if/when this all ends, imagine the improved relations we could have if we help out now.

Also, I love that the nihilistic attitude of "hey, everybody dies" is the best argument proffered so far to not be concerned about mass importation and resulting non-assimilation of Muslims from terrorist hotbeds.
