Why is it our responsibility to bring them here?
I'm cool with bringing the educated ones, FWIW. Doctors and engineers and folks like that. Just not folks that would be in the bottom third or fourth of wage earning potential.
It's not, but I think from a moral perspective (if you give a crap about that), we clearly
should offer shelter to those who are fleeing terrorists.
It's the right thing to do, even if it does mean we may have to be a little brave about it.
Not to mention, this is very clearly a global crisis, and I think it's fair for the US to carry its share of the humanitarian weight when our allies (although notably absent is Israel...) are doing their part.
