i know that but why can't the defense push you backwards as well? if a lineman can come push you from the 5 yard line and push u to the end zone, why can't the d push you back from the 1 to the 5?

They should consider changing the rules to disallow shoving.  You should also have to bounce the ball instead of running with it... and players should have to toss it through the uprights to score.

Aiding the ball carrier by pushing him in the back used to be illegal (USC vs Notre Dame from back in the day comes to mind) but it no longer is so the "hit Hubener in the back" play makes perfect sense.

well, bob davis was pretty pissed when a hawks receiver got called for holding away from the action and nullified a long bomb by willis.  had a pretty great "we gotta change that rule so garbage like that doesn't happen anymore" moment
