It's probably going to stay like that with Lincoln Riley.   Albeit he does have a tendency to get stale, but I suspect the better overall coaching staff at OU over what was at ECU will alleviate some of that.   OU simply came out flat against Texas, for whatever reason.

Texas is loaded with talent and has a head coach that can coach defense.

Rivalry games are weird sometimes. I don't think that the committee is going to hold the loss against ou all that much...early in season/rivalry game.

I've lost quite a bit of faith in the committee. The only thing I'm sure of is that if they don't want OU in the playoff, they will make a huge deal about the UT loss. If they want to put OU in, they will talk about how OU had a strong finish, that the UT game was an aberration, and that a certain other 1-loss team was able to overcome a disappointing early season loss to run the table last year.

The problem is the committee changes its talking points / emphasis so much it is obvious they are reverse-engineering their criteria.

None of that is true. You can whine and moan, but the committee has been consistent. Teams with more difficult schedules/conference championship/bigger names will get in. Not rocket science. A bigger name like OU will be fine with only one loss, where a Baylor would have to be undefeated.

True, it has been pretty consistent in that teams with bigger names are rewarded. Which is obviously bullshit.

It was kind of obvious that this was the intent of the committee when they got rid of the computers.

Iowa is a better team lol.  Iowa would be 5-20 if they played the top 25. Give me a rough ridin' break.

Iowa is #5 and two 1 loss teams are in the top 4 with names. Absolutely, yes!

So funny they bring up TCU's and Baylor's QB issues, when ND is on their 3rd stringer.

Lol! Look at Townie, the optimist! Hey dummy, last year is completely different. We had two big12 teams ahead of them at this point.

I witnessed two mid major team (names) get pushed out by a bigger name like Ohio State last year. This conference is so mumped! #TCU is at #18 behind two loss teams, ND is #4 and Alabama is #2 with a loss over undefeated teams. Alabama even lost at home to ole miss. ND will get in without a conference championship game, but the committee will tell us to get one. I mean, come on! Even Iowa is in front of Oklahoma State and they're a shitty Big Ten team. Who cares about the playoff! It's still about big names and $!
