It was . . . he was great at crafting legislation that back ended a lot of stuff, and living large off the vaporware of the .com "revolution" (soon bust) . . . I'd also point out that for much Clinton's presidency there were actually real conservatives running the show in Congress which moved Clinton well towards the Center.

Newt Gingrich made Clinton a do-nothing centrist, which is what we need now.

You know what's weird to think about?  If there were no term limits Big Will would still be in office.

You have to be able to wipe your own ass to serve as president (it's in the constitution or something) so he was on his way out in another year after his second term.

Facts?  You mean like the fact that when Clinton left office, the United States was experiencing the largest budget surplus in US history?

It seems to me like all the right wing lunatics want to do is blame Clinton's success on everything but Clinton himself.

And....

"Over the past 25 years, the government has gotten used to the fact that Social Security is providing free money to make the rest of the deficit look smaller," said Andrew Biggs, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.

Jeffy doesn't know the difference between the budget and the national debt.  Go figure.

Didn't someone suggest putting those funds in a "lock box"?  Oh yeah, it was that Al Gore guy.

Didn't someone make fun of the "lock box" idea?  Oh yeah, it was Bush and the Republicans.  Hmmm, I think Bush may have "borrowed" that money to cut taxes for the rich instead.

Note how the quote mentioned over the last 25 years.  There's plenty of guilt to go around.
