How many Big 12 HCs could do 20 pushups in a row?
« on: July 16, 2015, 02:30:19 PM »
Let's get the obvious ones out of the way: Strong, Swagwood, Beaty for sure. Hell, Strong might just be the strongest coach in the country, pardon the pun.

Gundy and Horsewomen probably could as well.

Rhoads?  I really don't know.  Could Stoops?  I'm guessing not.

Certified weaklings: Snyder.  Patterson. Briles is probably too old to crank out 20 good ones.

So here is my list of coaches who could do the most pushups in a row:

1. Strong (45 shups)
2. Ryan Swagosling (40 shups)
3. Beaty (34 shups)
5 (tie). Gundy (21 shups)
5 (tie). Holgerson (20 shups)
6. Rhoads (17 shups)
7. Stoops (14 shups)
8. Patterson (11 shups)
9. Briles (8 shups)
10. Snyder (0 shups)

You really think Rhoads could do more than Stoops?

stoops looks pretty out of shape to me.  plus i'm guessing stoops has like, 7 or 8 years on rhoads, but i really have no clue.

I think you are overlooking Briles old man strength by a lot here.

this would be a really fun little event at big 12 media days.  could be kind of embarrassing for the certified weaklings though.

Briles looks like the kind of guy that does 50 every morning before his coffee.  :dunno:

Also, he looks like he might weigh 160-175.  It is feasible that he could do pushups all day and never get tired.

Does it count as 0 pushups or infinity pushups if you are so fat that when you lay on your stomach your arms are already in the pushup position?

Yeah briles was definitely the hardest to gauge.  But i erred on the side of him being maybe 65 or so?  i really have no clue how old any big 12 coaches are besides snyder.

10. Snyder (0 shups)

this is a good question but your analysis is way off imo. agree on briles sentiment, he could do 40. stoops could easily do 30. rhoads 30+. holgerson 40. gundy 30+. snyder definitely 0. patterson could do 20 I bet.

Patterson only has to go down like two inches before his gut hits the ground. He can do way more than that.

Could Snyder do a girl push-up?  Honestly I'm guessing not.

Bill has a neek follow him around with an actual cord because the extra battery weight required to go cordless is too much for his system.  Honestly, I am surprised he walks up and down the tunnel on his own.

Absolutely not.  Briles and Swagoshling are the only two that can, I bet.  Maybe strong.  I mean, he looks very strong, but that muscle weighs a bunch too.

Very squat and compact, though (Smart, that is).  Doesn't have to pull his body up as far to complete a chin up.
My winning smile and can-do attitude.
