The point is that by saying you can't have or fly a confederate flag, you're essentially letting a small group of butthurt people take a giant crap on your constitutional rights and history of how the United States became the United States.

but is anyone saying that?
(some people probably are, but is it going to happen or is it happening?)

you can buy a rough ridin' nazi flag from budK to use for your kid's bedspread. this is america.

nobody is banning or confiscating your confederate flags. this is the living socratic clownsuit to the intolerance of my intolerance bullshit

These same people think that you can't pray in school.

Seems to me that Shellshock is trying to infringe on Amazon's, Walmart's, and others basic right to sell what they want.   :dunno:

We should pass a law in KS to make it illegal to make it illegal to ban any flags.  Then, just like Sharia Law, we won't have to worry about it.

My point is that if you want to fly the flag go ahead. Just because a couple of people are offended by it, so what, it's a free country. If you think it's racist, then so be it. I am not racist, but fully believe that it's a major point in our history that some wackos are trying to erase.

I fully believe in a capitalist society. You can sell whatever you want, for whatever price you want to. That being said, it doesn't mean that I (or others) will choose to buy it. I want everyone to have equal basic rights as granted to us by the constitution.

Everyone should be able to fly the Confederate (and if they want, Nazi) flag if they want. They should not be legally prevented from buying or flying it. If free market forces make it difficult to buy, or people's reaction make it difficult to fly, so be it.  Government locations should be prevented from flying it.  That is the American answer.

We should tax the sale of confederate flags excessively.

No we shouldn't. It's unamerican to have the government judge our free speech (money).

Yup, agree 100%. Though I effing hate that flag/the "south"/anything it stands for (traitors, slave owners, and losers).

Or purely the right to own other people.....as they all directly said in their secession documents.

Is that why the South collects more welfare than any other region of America? Mighty small gov't they are enjoying

It's a clear freedom of speech issue. Flying flags and having the confederate flag is an expression of your rights. Also, in that same fashion, freedom to assemble and petition the government. I don't see an issue with this whole thing. It's not like they're outraged and reverting to  :opcat:  times here.
