Drinking some dank hops with my little pool buddy.

He did not even wake up for 5 minutes of 2/3 submerged.

Finished the day off with some all beef dogs off the grill and Kraft m&c

Yes, very aware of the need for a trip to the barber to clean up my timber line, been a little busy.

This weekend we are going on a Iowa/Minnesota road trip.

Day 1 (today): Barn Town in West Des Moines
Day 2: Lua Brewing, Exile, Confluence
Day 3: Forager (Rochester, MN), Pulpit Rock and Toppling Goliath (Decorah, IA)

Day 2 is pretty flexible but I definitely want to hit up Lua.
Very jelly about Toppling Goliath. Plz report back.

Decorah is way the f out there. I was kind of disappointed in the tap room as they didn't have much there that I couldn't get locally, but it was still cool to see. Very large place - bigger than anywhere in KC other than Boulevard. Pulpit Rock, I wasn't hugely impressed with their hops. I've heard they are inconsistent from a couple different people.

Confluence/Exile were pretty meh.

Lua and Barn Town were fantastic if you are in to the pastry stout/smoothie style fruited sours.

Rochester - saisons and farmhouse ales. Also had a few of the aforementioned pastry stout/smoothie style fruited sours. Great food too. Overall a really good trip.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

Yep, probably the best of the low cal IPAs. Slightly Mighty and Wowza a few others.

Last night’s beer.  Spindletap out of Houston does not make any flops on the hazy IPA front and this might be one of their beat.  8.0% DIPA.

Savored a small army of Vizzy's last night. The hack? It's got antioxidants and Vitamin C and stuff.

Looks good.  I see you like pepper on your mac&cheese.  I'm a pepper guy too.  I put it on a lot of my food.  BTW, I use very little salt.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

Some more from Spindletap.  The nostalgic can art is enough to make me buy this but the quality of the juice puts it over the top.

Happy Pie&Beer Day!!!  Your favorite holiday’s favorite holiday.  Celebrating 2020 with homegrown/homemade cherry pie and my favorite local hazy Stimulus Check from 2Row.

In Vietnam I was served beer on ice and it was great. They used a giant cylinder shaped ice cube. (It was super hot outside and was a cheap local generic lager)
