Not a fan of IPAs but damn do they look good in the glass.
Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.

This is going to sound super neck-bears beer cunty of me but I am going to go ahead.  Have you had a New England style IPA from on of the better breweries out there?  It is completely different that the typical IPA and should be its own style.  Yes, the ingredients are the same but the brewing process is quite different.  It is not in the least bitter and is more like a mimosa than its namesake.

Off the top of my head, breweries to get a New England style or Hazy IPA from.

Casa Agria, Monkish, Other Half, Tree House, Trillium, Finback, Tired Hands, Weldwerks, Calusa, Cerebral, Resident Culture, The Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, Bearded Iris, Toppling Goliath, Turning Point, Celestial, Spindletap.

Toppling Goliath should be moderately available on the Missouri side of KC, not sure if in Kansas.

I stick with King Sue and Pseudo Sue, which is a hazy pale ale.

NE IPAs are definitely different and I definitely hate them. West Coast till I die (also like American pale ales).

You and I could probably be pretty good buds but your post is not making a great case for it.  I like American and West Coast IPAs but love the New England.  I will respect your decision though as it is your body, your choice.

crap.

Can get TG anywhere in KS. I'd also add Nightmare brewing makes some pretty good NEIPA and they recently became available here.

There is a local brewery in KC called BKS Artisan Ales that makes excellent NEIPAS.

I've had Celestial provided you are talking about the one in Dallas. vry good.

Was going to go Nashville for a sporting KC game and go to Bearded Iris before covid :(

finally - if you ever go to New Orleans visit Courtyard Brewery :) Great neipa and pastry stouts.

Lactose was used as a crutch by brewers/breweries that did not have the haze craze down in an attempt to replicate the haziness and also mouthfeel of NE style and hazies. It has since developed into an almost subset of the subset of hazy/NE style with some quality ones being made but as for me, I stick with the real deal.

I really like them but typically for dessert. Decadent Ales out of NY makes some of my favorites. Servaes in Shawnee makes interesting ones but sometimes can be pretty odd.

My buddy that moved back to KC from Dallas talks BKS up all the time, unfortunately the last time I was back last spring they were closed.  Still anxious to try it.

Have a buddy that travels to New Orleans a lot, will try to get some Courtyard.

I feel I haven't really found one that wasn't overly sweet.

@mocat & I discovered BKS together and it blew us away. They had a stout that had Vietnamese cinnamon in it that was incredible.

The biggest mouth bombs I have had are Juicy Bits from Weldwerks, Western Glow & Mirror Flexin’ from Casa Agria, Australian Kiss from Turning Point, Space Diamonds from Other Half, Diamonds in My Mouth from Spindletap.

I am sure a lot of the east coast & west coast beers I have had would make the list but not sure if they were drank at optimal conditions.

Have a pretty strong preference to Galaxy hopped IPAs.

Here is a pretty good recent one from Turning Point.

I don’t know why I am switching to a DIPA so early in the day but here we are.
