Lakes are great. Folks summer at a small one near Marceline MO. Great quiet lake with all the space you need to ski etc. lakes are great because quick weekend getaway. Sit on the dock or float in the water drinking beer all day and cruise the boat around. Never met anyone IRL that didn't have a good time at the lake. Hate the inconvenience of houses being so far away from the water and most ppl sharing docks at table rock. Plus the drive is too far. Hate the huge boats, dirty water, and traffic at ozarks that is always making the weekend stressful. Make it to our lake 5-8 times a summer. The other two once a year with groups of ppl.

Leaving for the 'Zarks in 8 hours. Regrettably there's not going to be any free time to play poker in between all the fishing, jet skiing and boozing.

Man, I use to be able to find really good deals for cabins at the lake back in the day. These days, it's an easy $400 for two nights on the weekend and that's a cheap cabin off the water.

We really need to get out of town this weekend for our anniversary. She has zero PTO until August, so I have to try and make this work.

Any pro lake tips?
