Over/Under on the number of times Ertz is referred to as a "game manager" this year?

I'm setting it at 150 to start.

Did you miss my note about people being impressed with his ability to run? Game mangers just hand the ball off and pass to shallow routes. I think whomever our quarterback ends up being will handle the ball a lot, as usual for a LHC Bill Snyder football team.

I missed that note, but I have concerns that he'll be an effective runner at the Big 12 level.

I'd be more than happy to be wrong.

Why? Have you seen him run?  He is very fast.  If your concern is his slender build, I also share that concern.  But the problem isn't speed.

Well, considering he got his leg demolished in the Iowa 2A (or whatever) playoffs, yes, I have fears that a Big 12 linebacker may have him riding off of the field on a cart.

can confirm that the concern isn't speed. but, at the same time, he isn't fast enough to make me not concerned about his elusiveness/strength/breaking tackles ability. waters had decent speed but i didn't feel confident at all about his running ability.

It's amazing that this entire board knows our QB and WRs will be the worst group ever fielded by Snyder before they've played a single game together.

I would rather have Hubes than Ertz.

Yeah, because we've seen so much of either of them.

we've had a lot of good players like that. k-state is the least intimidating team ever in person.

you should have seen mrs. dave's reaction when she said, "there are some people decked out in KSU gear way over there" and I casually glanced at them said, "that's the guy that carries around LHC Bill Snyder's headset during the games". she thinks I'm some sort of ksu sports rain man or something.

my mind's eye says this ertz kid's spiral game is solid.  yes.  tight spirals cutting wind gusts across the plains of kansas.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Fair point.  I wish he were bigger.

That said, we should roll the dice with QB injuries once the Big 12 starts.  We are so good at running the QB; we have four options as QB:  take the risk.

He can run a ck skettibrain offense. Ertz won't last one big12 game.

I don't agree with worst ever.  I think the Grant Gregory year probably can't be topped.
Banks, Mastrud, LaMark the Shark, Snipes seem better than what we have now.  :dunno:
