nope, Benja is spot on with the Boomer Sooner comparo as Lann the clever stole Casterly Rock from the Casters.  Even the crimson banner fits but I did enjoy the OU v Texas = Martell v Lannister aspect of the op.

ut is the highgarden people - old money, best castles, best land, most people.  they know they have it better that everyone else, but they're mostly just concerned about enjoying their good fortune.

lannisters fit ou better - newer money (from resource extraction), aggressive, socially ambitious and a little crass.

I think KU is House Baratheon.  Lucked into the throne (Orange Bowl and Bball Natty year), but it was short-lived. Very strong in one war discipline (Navy=Bball) but deficient in others.  Fratricide among competing powers (Perkins axing Mangino).  Turned to religious zealotry to regain power (Melissandre=Gill) but sank deeper.
