what makes you think he was a perv?

chain smoking alcoholic womanizer would probably be more accurate.

Jimmy Fallon's good at what he does because he steps away from the old man talk show formula and puts a new younger spin on it. He does things like video game week and has great music/musical guests every night.

In my opinion it was time for letterman to go. Because if you watch a show of his from when he first started to his last show it was the same rough ridin' show every night.

i mean this is pretty stupid and not true, but ok. also letterman was like fallon in that he completely broke out from what was being done at the time, although he did it with true snark and not fake embarrasment and giggling which i have some appreciation for.

Like i said definately a generation gap. To me every new host should be innovative in some way. And push the boundaries not stay inside what they know

Never watch these things, but Craig Ferguson was the best, based on clips I've seen on youtube.

I'd say Letterman was innovative back in his NBC days when he dropped stuff off a 5 story building or crushed stuff in a 10 ton hydraulic press.  Oh yeah, those Top 10 lists too.  He was doing crazier stuff that Johnny didn't do and it appealed to a younger audience.  Stupid Pet Tricks was stuff you could see on other late night shows but simply calling it Stupid Pet Tricks set it apart and made it sound funnier than "Hey Ed now we're going to see a poodle do something neat."

Jeb Bush was just on Fally. He did not tell the story about the time he held the door open for me.

I didn't even follow what was going on, but it seemed like Fally was just acting like a huge, charming racist.

Wow. Jeb Bush is an acceptable guest now? Late night really has struggled since Letterman retired.

Jeb is a stud. He should get a late night TV show and make his mark in the industry.
