what good is it if you cant share it with someone? do you just buy yourself drinks until you pass out?

That is pretty said. If I were golfing by myself and I hit a hole in one, I would

my ass off. Then, when I was with my friends, I would tell them about it, and being the awesome friends they are, they would say I was full of crap.

I love to play golf by myself, especially walking 9 or 18. To get a hole and one would still be fun as well. Playing with others is fun too, unfortunately I can't make it weekend.
