More speaking to the ball only being a foot away.

It helped that the tee box was slightly elevated, but my swing tends to result in a high launch ball flight. Fun to watch it go high in the air but really sucks hitting into a headwind. I used to be able to hit the low knock down shot but I'm not very good at it anymore.

Should a hole in one really count, from 156 out?! ;)

I agree and I sent a strongly worded letter to Tom Weiskopf letting him know exactly what I thought of his "design" but the only response I got was a restraining order. I'm like bro you still didn't answer the question

Honest question for all you GolfCats.  :ksu:

So for years and years, I played a fade with my driver, fairway woods and long irons, and more often than not I had weak ball striking and sliced it. I've recently started to play the ball with a lot of draw, sometimes even somewhat of a controlled hook, because I feel like I can control the ball way more with striking than any fade/slice. How do you all shape your ball? In a perfect world how would you prefer to shape your ball consistently? Am I just mental or what? TIA.

I dont know, shooter.  I just try to work on a repeatable swing and hope it goes straight-ish. My shot tends to be a fade, but I can't claim that's by design, and I have no idea how to intentionally shape other ball flights.

I have a consistent fade when I use my driver. With most of my other clubs that isn't a problem for me. But my fade is so sure with the drivers that it cuts lots of distance off of otherwise decent drives. Truly frustrating for me. Since changing my grip and hand position is a challenge for me I have to address my stance. I wish I had the answers you seek as well.

I worded that wrong, and now that I think about it, it was probably a pretty dumb question that would take a longer explanation of what I meant. For us hackers, you should definitely shape the ball whichever way you can the most consistently, with the most confidence.

i'm kind of in the same boat. i've toyed with a controlled hook a few times, just haven't really perfected it so i haven't stuck to it.

When I'm striking the ball well, I line up my shot straight where I want it to go. At impact it starts off going to the right and then draws back to where I aimed it. It's 100% pure hot sex. My problem is being inconsistent. And with that swing it's easy to overcook it in which case the ball will start out straight and then just duck hook. But man, when striking it well, just hot hot sex.

I don't think I'll be able to join a golf cats outing the rest of the summer.  I hope you all get something together and have a great time.  My golf will be relegated to weekends and late afternoon/evenings for awhile.

I'd be willing to do a late afternoon pak sometime in the next two weeks.
