Things to do in York, NE?

Will be visiting York, NE next weekend and I would like some tips on what to see, where to eat, what to do, etc.  I'm staying at a friends house just north of the highway and pretty close to the Pizza Hut.  Planning on seeing Bull In A China Shop at the Yorkshire playhouse one evening but other than that I'm open to suggestions.  Anything I absolutely can't miss? Ideas? Tips?

Saap Bros truck stop has the smelliest/grossest men's room I've ever been in (and I'm counting porto-johns) so you may want to experience that too.  York also have a Starbucks next to the Wendys which is nice.

Is there a plaque or something where they claim to have the smelliest/grossest mens room?  Seems more touristy that way.  Will def make a stop at the starbucks right next to the Wendy's.  Sounds interesting.  Thanks.

No, I didn't have time to make one after I declared it that.  Also, other than mrs. dave, this is the first time I've announced that it is the smelliest/grossest so if anyone knows the management there you can go ahead and link this thread to them in case they want to have the plaque made.

You should stop by and see how this worked out for them and report back.

"2008 will also see the start of the Nebraska Avenue improvement project from 1st Street to 14th Street with a new concrete surface, storm sewer, curb and gutter."

hmmm, I'm going to check this out.  I worked a summer job as an inspector for the materials and research division of KDOT while in college and it will be interesting to see how NDOT stacks up in regards to concrete surfaces.  Thanks for the tip furball.

Yeah, already scheduled to do this sometime Sunday afternoon.  This was the one thing a lot of people told me I just had to do while in York.

I know this guy who works at the Taco Johns in York.

Also:  If you head back down through KS, visit Munden, KS.
