Interesting KU booster tidbit
« on: April 21, 2010, 07:49:13 PM »
Check out the first comment on this story....

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2010/apr/21/lawrence-developer-set-be-sentenced-thursday-junct/

Anyone have any more details on this?

Would really be remarkable if something came of this....I mean the track record of "connected" KU boosters over the past few years is quite a story.

More Resignations in the ku athletic department, and the word that hundreds of thousands of dollars are missing.

The ku seniors and likely guys headed to the NBA on their barnstorming tour aka the cash express that players are promised who go to ku . . .  The barnstorming has always been a money laundering operation to funnel booster gifts through to outgoing players.

You'd only have to ask where the money missing in the ku athletic department ended up.

Maybe someone could get BillyBob1 to post his story over here.  Love that the "source" is named BillyBob.  Would be funny if it was the Gorilla drummer from Showbiz Pizza

How bad is it at the ku athletic dept

http://www.kansascity.com/2010/04/21/1893855/rodney-jones-director-of-kus-williams.html

Rats jumping from a sinking ship.  Anyone with insidery stuff that explains just how bad corruption in the athletic dept really is?  ku gave us a hard time about the super secret Prince agreement and all the crap that went on until Currie was brought in, but at least the feds didn't get involved with a criminal investigation.  I do know once the feds are involved (1) There's a substantial amount of money involved, and (2) The allegations of criminal conduct tend to be authentic.

Any observations?

My little ku buddies say that Lew is a goner.  I also have seen discussion of this elsewhere.   Word is that the new KU Chancellor and the Board of Regents are less than thrilled with what is going on over at KU Athletics.  Some in Tardville are in denial.

Sugar Dick is fast becoming a highly valued member of the board.  Plus, his name gives people an excuse to type "Sugar Dick" over and over.

Pete and I play softball with a gentleman named Sugar Dick Daddy.  He goes by Sugar D sometimes.  Wonder if it is that same dude?

I have dealt with Carl on a few occasions.  He has one of those totally badass license plates that says "NOTGLTY" or something elite like that.
