You continue to tap out Ben.

Again, any thoughts about the fact that ku booster and former ku player Roger Morningstar is linked extensively to this money laundering operation in the ku athletic department??

It doesn't surprise me one bit.  I played AAU basketball back in the day, and Morningstar was the head coach of the Converse All-Stars.  The guy has connections and  makes quite a bit of money.

Who did you play AAU ball for?

What's POSSIBLY $3 million in tickets when your funneling cash to college hoopsters through a corrupt AAU organization and guys like ku booster Roger Morningstar to bring in top recruits that ku fanboy boosters will pay tens of thousands of dollars to see play and then contribute more money on top of that??

POSSIBLY $3 million is chump change.

BMW you must have been really good?  How come you didn't walk on the KU basketball team?  Was your family not rich/white enough?

Quote
Perkins as Kansas athletic director had either hired or promoted everyone involved in the ticket scandal, and he had more or less created the system that was so thoroughly abused, and he was in charge of the athletic department while this fun bit of malfeasance was going on. For this, well, let him explain:

“I accept responsibility, not for any criminal activity, but because I am the athletic director and it happened during my watch,” Perkins said.

That statement doesn’t exactly overflow with responsibility acceptance, does it?

Lew Perkins is an evil genius. Also, the sun is hot and tacos are delicious.

The new logic on ku boards is that "no one" cares about this except K-State and MU fans.

While looking to see what Virginia Tech fans felt about our game next year, I discovered that the Hokies have at least mild interest in the scandal.

Warning: It's in 'Tigerboard' format

Obviously there are just a bunch of K-State and MU grads who find employment in Blacksburg, VA... Obviously.

Tully lists the greatest hits from the report.

http://cjonline.com/news/2010-05-27/report_focuses_on_blame_methods

Quote
Blubaugh's neighbor, a Kansas State fan, requested tickets to the 2008 KU-K-State football game. "I need 8 ... an outrageous request that only a K-State fan would make," the neighbor said in an e-mail, indicating he would be entertaining KU fans that weekend. "Can you cut me a deal?" Blubaugh then answered, "How about you get them for free." This was at KU's expense.

K-State fan picks up free premo game tickets with an email . . . meanwhile Tardville boosters get snubbed or go to the back of the line.   LOL . . . classic.

Ben?  Care to comment?  Seems like there is some confusion on whether or not you did play hoops, or didn't.  Picture would suffice.

Maybe he meant PAL not AAU.  I played PAL in T-town, great league.

Charlette Blubaugh's neighbor   Reply
I remember someone posting on here about the same time Rodney Jones was put on administrative leave. It seems like I remember they were neighbors of Blubaugh and commented about the $200,000? they invested in landscape and a pool. I laughed at the time, thinking nobody could possibly scam more than say $5,000 per year in tickets without getting caught...boy was I wrong!

attached to the Final Investigative Report is a copy of a email conversation between Blubaugh and a neighbor who identifies himself as a K-Stater. He asks her if she can help him score some tickets for KSU vs KU football game as he has relatives coming to town. She responds by asking him if he would like to have eight seats for free.

Yes, it's our very own. It was all over this board yesterday and this morning. He was interviewed for TV by his wife's competitor.

A ku fan told me last night that his friend that worked at the ticket office distributing student tickets used to take several season packages and sell them to non-students. He didn't even know people higher up than him were doing the same thing on a much larger scale. It's just rampant over there.

A PAL league veteran here.  NORTH Y!! Played a fall league in Topeka too but don't remember the name of it.  Played with some Hayden kids, West kids, and SM Heights kids.  1990 thru 1992.  Good times.

I was one of the last 10 students who they let into the Texas A&M game at Allen in 2006 (Acie Law :jerk: ). There was a big dust-up at the time about 100-200 students being shut out of the game despite purchasing tickets. This stuff certainly makes you wonder.

Also worth noting: I was in the second row of the student seats at the Oral Roberts game in '06

If this indicates ticket theft, KSU is fracked.

Seems like there were students turned away at a couple of big games last year.

Pretty sure they oversell.  Either that, or I am believing exactly what they want me to... :dunno:

From GPC poster:

-I didn't realize that records for an entire year of basketball ticket sales had be destroyed (2008/2009). This is the year after their tainted NC, so demand (and abuse) would have been the greatest.

-Also, Perkins allocates all comp tickets (yet didn't know anything about this).

-Oh, our buddy the neighbor is in article.

:surprised:
