wacky, how many actual jobs do you have on your resume? i would recommend keeping 3-4, tops. if some were short lived, dont put dates on any of them. think about how relevant they are to the job youre applying for.

The "don't put any dates on any of them" trick could backfire big time.

i have a combo-fanning (literally) season game we can play. it's called get wackycat a new job. whoever wants to play pms wacky. this enters you into the game. wacky then pms you back his resume and that's when the game begins. you get to use his resume and pretend to be wacky. if you apply for a certain job with it then you have to list it in the thread and we will keep a separate thread of jobs applied for so that we don't have five people applying for jobs as wacky with the same company. anyway, you apply and you have to do everything all the way up to any kind of face to face interview. if wacky gets the job that you basically got him then you win. what do you win? i don't know. how about twenty dollars or something.

When asked, you'll either have to lie or tell the truth, which will make it look like you're lying. I think it's better to be transparent and include dates and then have good responses prepared for any potential questions.

I could never imagine myself reporting something to HR.
