Good advice, Tonya. I missed out on a good job at thermo fisher cause they asked me why I was only at DSI for 7 months and I tried to come up with something creative, which I could feel they read the bull crap.

wacky, how many actual jobs do you have on your resume? i would recommend keeping 3-4, tops. if some were short lived, dont put dates on any of them. think about how relevant they are to the job youre applying for.

If some were short-lived, it's probably better not to include them on your resume.  The "don't put any dates on any of them" trick could backfire big time.

well mostly just mean if its relevant. if you had a job for 6 months that was very close to what you want to do, you shouldnt leave it off just because of length. could also say you took a pay raise to work a new job or something...

i have a combo-fanning (literally) season game we can play. it's called get wackycat a new job. whoever wants to play pms wacky. this enters you into the game. wacky then pms you back his resume and that's when the game begins. you get to use his resume and pretend to be wacky. if you apply for a certain job with it then you have to list it in the thread and we will keep a separate thread of jobs applied for so that we don't have five people applying for jobs as wacky with the same company. anyway, you apply and you have to do everything all the way up to any kind of face to face interview. if wacky gets the job that you basically got him then you win. what do you win? i don't know. how about twenty dollars or something.  :dunno:

We need some parameters:
Is whacky mobile?
Minimum pay?
He needs to tell us about his ideal job. What does he want to do? What are his non-kickball related qualifications?

Sure, I just mean it is a bad idea to put a job on there as filler and then try to obfuscate it.  When asked, you'll either have to lie or tell the truth, which will make it look like you're lying.  I think it's better to be transparent and include dates and then have good responses prepared for any potential questions.

a lot of companies in my industry (im an investment banker) have you list your past jobs on applications and will ask your reason for leaving. idk if the wackycat industry is the same, but i would be prepared to answer for every job youve ever left.

I would list month/year only...that can obscure long unemployed or short employed sections a little bit. Like if you worked from May 31 to Sept 1....just list May to September which will look like 5 months instead of 3.

Does this actually work on phone calls? or just you can make a recording? Also, is there an Android version?

But yeah do the headhunter thing. And use the word headhunter when people ask you what you do. And don't really tell them what that actually means so they can only speculate.
