Related to that, I was looking at jobs in the bay area and saw this place where you pay membership fees and you get access to a huge woodshop and "trainers" to teach you or answer questions. Basically like a gym but woodworking. I thought that was a pretty cool idea

I've been there and looked into a membership. It's pretty great.

pretty good, i have access to our carpentry shop at work. so pretty much whatever i want but ive been in it maybe 5 times in 7 years....that could change

I have all that stuff but have never used it for anything most would call woodworking. I have literally never used some of it. Just have it for when I get the time to learn how.

mocatdad has a garage full of stuff like that, i mean saws and clamps and sanders and whatnot. i built a shelf last year that was the first thing i did pretty much by myself and it was a great feeling.

I want to build several end tables. I could use like 6 or 7 of them right now, but I want them to look good and most of them will have to be different heights and table sizes.

This is a good project. Do the least seen one first so you can work out potential pitfalls, then do all the rest at the same time
